Hey it's a game
Get it here
I have to thank Spigot for putting together a windows binary. The rest of everything is my fault. The scoring system isn't fair, the music sucks and sounds poor, and the game has little to no replay value. Other than that it's pretty good.

There are only 1 days, 17 hours, 34 minutes, and 1 seconds remaining
I'm making art now. Wow lots of fun. The game scoring system isn't put together yet, but all the functionality for playing is there. I have a set of threats put together, and am moving onto the ammunition. The scenary is coming along, but I'll have to blend up something pretty for the background. The intro screen is going to be important for setting the mood, but will be a lot of text. Other than that the gun is really the only art after that. I may add in some additional gun related graphics effects if I can get them to work without being terribly slow.
Sound is something I was planning on leaving for the end and if I got to it that would be nice. It looks like I should have the time to put together some music at a minimum. A full set of sounds is now the goal.

As you can see progress is rapid. I had some snags with screen update issues, but have them all sorted out now. Some art would be handy soon wouldn't it. All the placeholder graphics are working as they need to be though. User interaction is the main thing left until programming is done. What fun is a gun that doesn't shoot. The threat intel report, and ammo count aren't up yet. I am going to give the user unlimited ammo to be nice. Just penalize the scoring for misses.
Time to get back to work.

Day two is starting, and I have the scoreboard put together with all it's little parts and numbers. The crosshair that replaces the mouse is there (with gigantic temp art. And the rest of the scene is random temp art that doesn't give away the game too much.
It's time to put some ammo in the gun now. Then create some threats. It's been all programming so far. Art has no made any appearance so far.

There are only 2 days, 16 hours, 45 minutes, and 46 seconds remaining in the competition "November '06" with the theme magnets
I've spent most of my time since the last update putting together the framework for the scoreboard area. I still need to get the newgame and quit buttons working, and will finalize a bunch of numbers when I make some art for real. I had some issues with the GroupSingle class. I gave up on using it for the one part I wanted to use it, not a big deal there. Hopefully I won't need it later down the line.
I'll have to take a break from programming and move to art for a change of pace sometime. Right now my mind working pretty well on the programming, so I won't mess things up. I know it will get tiring soon.

General Plan Complete
About two hours in, and I have two sheets of paper I've planned out my general classes with:
Game which starts everything up, handles input, works the timer, and keeps score
Fridge This just holds stuff, nothing exciting here
Threats Now we're talking, the big baddies that you have to take down, and a group to hold the visible ones
Gun Everyone loves guns, this is going to fire at the threats, and depending on how tough they are it may take em down, unlimited ammo or no?
Seems simple enough now that I look at it.
