72 Hour GDC

I always like these short deadline challenges. I have done a bunch of Blender speed modeling contests which were always fun. Those were always between 15 minutes and an hour so a whole different feel than this programming. I started and got most of the way through one simple practice program to prepare myself for this. I never used Python or Pygame for much of anything until that. I didn't feel like trying to put together a team so I am rolling solo.

The theme ended up being magnets which took me a bit to come up with an idea for. First person shooters are always the best games. I am going for realism with 3D graphics and a variety of threats. I'm not sure what I can scrounge together in the way of sounds, but I'll leave that for the end. Now I need to think of a name for my game, that has to be the most important thing.

Magnoforce DX 2090: The Revenge

Titles with the : and a subtitle are all the rage today so I think I'm going to have to go with something like this. I'll probably start talking to publishers before the 72 hour deadline is up, so I hope I still have time to blog.
